Looking for a cargo rack - Any Ideas?!

I'm looking around for a cargo rack to put my spare tire on. Right now the Wilderness racks are looking nice but they have a Sport Series and an Off-Road Series. Any suggestions on which one to go with? Or does anyone have a better idea for a tough but cheap rack?

I did alot of searching on the 'Net, including YotaTech (plenty of advice and suggestions here), and I'm going with the Wilderness rack. 4x4 Connection has them on sale for 20% off, however they're on backorder. There are cheaper roof racks out there, but I wanted the Wilderness and willing to pay alittle extra.

There is alot of debating on whether or not putting the spare on the roof is a wise idea. The weight of the spare raises the center of gravity of the 4Runner making it top heavy.

I am working on a custom rear cargo box with space made for my spare to keep it in the vehicle when on the trail. I'll carry camping gear and other stuff on top that's not too heavy.

Thanks for the tip! I'm definitely interested in hearing about that custom rear cargo box you are working on. Keep me posted.
