Just lookit that rig sitting there with those running boards on... Hmmm... Lesse, Rickey took his off today (well done!); we did Ray's last night...

You're next FR!

You might was well order up that front flare piece... You KNOW you're gonna lose 'em!

Man, I think we're going to have to post pictures of our rigs, AND ourselves on the WA4ROC website, just so we can remember who is who!

The meeting location will jump around, so its not always going to be in Seattle (not that I wouldn't mind! )

I'm going to be traveling a bit in August, so I'm thinking Wed, August 20th, 7:00 PM will be the next monthly meeting, location to be announced. There will likely be additional offroading trips in the meantime.

Tentative topics for next meeting:

1) Progress on website/webhosting (Mark)
2) Logos/Stickers (Kevin)
3) Reports from Yotajam (whoever happens to attends)
4) Future events (weekend off-roading trip, bowling, knitting)

Yeah, yeah, I know! I can't come out and play with you boys until I get rid of my dork boards! I actually thought about taking them off today when I washed my truck but not until I order the Rocker Flares or get sliders.

It's a conspiracy, I tell ya. I think you're behind all these board removals....the mind control you have!

To bring with you:snacks, water, clothes you don't mind getting dirty (just in case!), a warm jacket/sweater (just in case).

As far as when to leave, couldn't tell you. I'll be leaving Seattle around 5:30 at the latest to avoid serious traffic.

No sweat... I'll have eveything we need to look at it with me tonight, so it can be your call if you want to give it a shot.

We'd like to be on the trail at 7, so that we don't get back REAL late. So if you aim to be out there at 6:40, that gives plenty of time to get some air out of your tires, taking initial group pictures, hack your antenna wire, etc.

I'll probably be leaving Bothell around 5:45. The traffic through Bellevue on 405 can be a nightmare.

Glad to hear you had fun man! Like I think you heard from most of us.. Get out that Visa card!

I have some pics that I'll be putting up later. I also took a few of the truck when I got home. It looks like I'll be buying an orbital buffer tomorrow.

Great time guys. Any pics posted should go in the trip planning section (or at least links to pics posted elsewhere, either on your own site or on a different thread). I've got lovely pinstriping as well, but nothing that won't buff out. I think that since Ray has gotten his CB tuned and running boards removed, he owes Mark and I a wax with the porter...

Alcohol or drugs on the trail is not an acceptable practice for our organized off-roading runs. This is not to say that there aren't individuals/clubs out there that allow it, but they are typically the ones who give off-road enthusiasts a bad reputation among the general public. As the organizer of last night's run, and (unofficial) president of WA4ROC, I need watch out for the safety of the individuals who attend (I am not responsible in a legal sense, for any lawyers in the crowd, everyone wheels at their own risk). All participants share in the responsibility of keeping things as safe as possible.

Serious physical harm to both person and vehicle, possibly death, could result from an individual acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs while driving, let alone off-roading. One could imagine what may have gone wrong while Mike was on the hill- vehicle roll-over, a spotter getting crushed by the vehicle, etc. These runs are based on the foundation that we all care about our vehicles/bodies as much as the guy standing beside us, and trust is absolutely necessary.

For a club that is in its infancy, we cannot afford to generate a bad reputation for ourselves. Members of WA4ROC or individuals that attend events/trips planned by WA4ROC, are expected to act responsibly, follow the principles of “Tread Lightly,” and absolutely must abide by the law.

Regards,

David “Mad Chemist”

Thumbs up I wanted to pout seeing those pics!

That looks like you all had so much fun. I am so mad at myself for not playing it off to my boss I was on my deathbed. I shoulda just up & quit, bounced a few checks for food & fuel, then pushed the pedal to the metal to meet up. I am so jealous. But you guys trust me, I want to be there for the next run. By the way I recruited our newest Central Washington member. Say hi if you see him he's Charles/CJs RedRunner On 35s. I plan on a few more within the next week or so. Hey David I had a "?" for you sir. My next 3 or 4 recruits are truck owners not Runner owners. I thought I heard you say trucks were ok but wanted to double check before I invite them.

Whats up fellas,
It was great to see you all yesterday. I was bummed I arrived late. I always enjoy chit chattin while were all getting set up.
The 4Runners are starting to come out in force. It so cool to be riding and see all these 4Runners. At one time we were all coming off this hill. I looked up at my rear view mirror and saw a line of 4Runners with lights on. It was definitely a Kodak moment. But ya gotta keep safety first and keep both hands on the wheel ya know.

A few of us are pre-running the Naches next weekend. We will be running it east to west and back. I'll make sure and take plenty of pics.

Till the next time guys

Oh ya. Did anyone take pics of my hillclimb! heh heh

I thought about it, but byt the time I did I was too busy confusing Rob and Jim by suggestion alternate lines to get your backside off of the hill!

I looked around for David and his cam, but he was up there spotting and being side ballast.

And of course - YOU'RE the one witht eh night vision cam, but you had your hands kinda' full!

So.. we'll just have to re-create the moment at some point.

heh. hehhehehe. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!

Mike,

It was definitely cool to go wheeling with you again. I think the 4Runners are going to create a bit of a reputation for ouselves in Washington (weren't there more 4runners than Tacomas on the run?). Good luck on the pre-run, make sure to fill us in on the details.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone caught your hill climb on film (or pixels), which was the high point of the evening! We'll have to get together on another run soon!

-David

Here is a pic from the meeting the other night- its at a strange angle, but was the only way I could get everybody in the shot:
