Post WA4ROC Central & East divisions

Yota, It is very much so an unofficial way I look at it. I live in Wenatchee and being two hours away I am unable to make every meeting but will make one every now and then I am hoping. There are two of us in Wenatchee and one in Spokane that I know of. I say that in the future we all meet in some central location between all of us. Any ideas? You really should join or the rest of the state will never get off the ground with 4ROC. Thats why I joined to build this side of the state up or atleast my area. Join man join!

Kevin, I think you are really onto something here. That would be so cool to get together when everyone can put in for the time off. Plan ahead and there should be no excuses huh. A car show would be fun. Maybe something before the fall or snow hit? Kinda an end of the season bash or something.

Oh no, not at all BBB... No specific slam intended.

If anything, I was poking fun at _ALL_ of us folks with 4WD's that tend to like to stay out of ugly weather. Myself included!

I started with my 4Runner as a yuppie in Chicago. I do well in snow and pretty ugly stuff, but I prefer to stay away from it.

I would cry, but I would blame it on allergies/dust

Well, we've got Yotajam at the beginning of August, so how about "4ROCTOBERFEST, 2003" It'll probably be less organized than the Yotajam (we're not going to have sponsors most likely), but we could still have a big get together before the winter hits

Talking 4ROCToberfest 03

Heck yeah I like the sounds of it! I am there! But Where will there be? I hate the dust factor were going to have to run on at YJ. I deal with that frikkin dust right here at home when I go up. Oh well, it will be fun anyway.

it probably wouldn't be that much work. i guess it all depends on what we want it to be. maybe like a car show day on saturday and a light offroading day on sunday. the thing is accomidations. if we do it in central WA will it be warm enough to camp in october? i really doubt it. so people would either have to get a hotel room or sleep in the back of their 4runners. But say maybe we had it just somewhere in the cascades so that its a little bit closer to eastern and central people but its still quite close to the western people then anybody who does come from central, eastern or way south or north could maybe stay with other 4roc members if they have an extra room or something. but it all depends on what we want it to be and if we want it to be a whole weekend or what.

Question 4ROCToberfest

Possible area suggestions: Cle Elum, Stevens Pass, Blewitt Pass. I have heard about some hott springs on Stevens but never been there myself. Or Moses Lake @ the Dunes. There are plenty of places to go here in the Wenatchee Valley but not sure how the weather would treat us then.

I'll plead the case of the newcomer to the area (2 1/2 years ago) and don't know places to suggest...

...but you can bet I'll be there, wherever it is!

Enchantment Nat. Forest

Above Leavenworth are a dozen camp grounds that extend into the Enchantments below the Cascades. It is very pretty up there. I am unaware of where all the trails are but I am sure if we were to plan it out with the Forest Rangers in Leavenworth we could get guided tours up there. I could do all of the planning to locate downtown Leavenworth lot space for the car show. I could also talk to the Rangers about camping reservations for a weekend on one or more of the camp grounds. It is the ultimate getaway up there and with Stevens Pass about 20-30 minutes away there could be a tour up to the famous hot springs. Just a thought!

I just recently went up there a couple weeks back for the first time, there are a ton of spots off that Icicle Rd. This might be more of a general get together as opposed to Yotajam, which is primarily meant for off-roading. I wouldn't be opposed to finding some trails in the area, but we could just do a 4Runner car show, camping and barbeque type thing, and maybe offroading for people who are interested.
