If bulldog and I can agree on a set of dates, we'll put up a thread for a Death Valley run in march with all the particulars...
If not, well, I think he's going regardless, so just keep a-watchin'!

OOOOOOhhhhhh, I was working on planning a trip (another, I was just there before Christmas) for March 9-13.
My buddy with a 1986 Turbo Pickup, another friend with a 1989 Jeep Cherokee, and my 1988 4Runner will all be present if we can plan a trip for those days to DV.

Ok, I'll put up a poll for Hollister in this section.
Scott, you sound like the guy to know for DV . I'll speak to the "boss" and then we can finalize a date for DV. I was thinking of at least doing 3-4 days there, i.e. a weekend plus a couple of days. Folks that just want to join for the weekend, can probably join in just for a day or two. I think something a little more interesting than stock would be good, moderate??, but defintely not hardcore. My 4R is still a
Playing in dunes can be fun, hiking maybe for very short trips. Sightseeing is a must, sort of the purpose of going there (At least an excuse to convince the "boss")

But on death valley, how many are interested, and how long a trip? It'll be more than a weekend for me (8-9 hour drive).
Also, how much/what level of wheeling would be people be interested in?
(i/e the racetrack and titus canyon are fabulous "stocker" trails, but some
of the mining towns have more technical routes)
Would people also be interested in doing some hiking, sightseeing, playing in the dunes (not driving, sorry), etc?
Best weekends to work around are 3/19 or 3/26 for me.
Edit: Just found this source for road conditions. A LOT of the park is closed right now. I'll do some more research to see what is likely to change in the next two months.

Ok guys, here's da scoop as I see it.
I can't make it when JokePlayer is, and he can't make it when I can.
He's already got three or four rigs going, so if y'all are into an early march run, that'd be pretty cool. I'll lend whatever info I can to the trip, and if I somehow break myself that weekend I'll try and join you.
(I'm supposed to be running a half-marathon on the 12th. Considering I'm a tottering old blob of blubber, that's a big deal for me)
If others can't make it that weekend, I'm still way up for throwing something together for around the 26th. The only minor perk I see to going later is that more of the stuff to see might be open (see the daily report above). On the other hand JP went there in December and found enough to do to make him go right on back in March!
So let me know, and either way, I'll give ya all the info on lodging, etc, etc.

Unfortunately I can't join in early March.
I'll put up a thread for the 26th in the trail planning section. The "other" guys should do the same for their time frame. This wy ppl can pick what suites them best.

Keep your eyes peeled on the trip planning section.
I wouldlike to go back to Cargia Ridge sometime soon, and maybe we nned to have a trip out closer to Scott's area in the Nothern Sierra's. WInter time is good to go down south in the desert though.

That was easy... where do I go for trip planning and information on members, etc? Also, what about the sticker? I wanna look like I belong too! Who do I talk to about website info? Is Scott the man on this whole thing? Think he needs any help running this show?

Hook that girl up man! I would be OK with designing a site for all to use and then having a message board right on the site only for CA4ROC members. Easy stuff! Just point me in which direction I need to get pointed to hook that up!
