winches

Hey i picked up a winch tonight for free. apparently the solenoid is bad on it and it needs a new cable. its a Black mountain 8000lb winch. do u think it would worth it to get it fixed. if anyone knows anything about winches i would really like some input thanks

Check into the cost of the solenoid and see if there is another one can/will work on it (from Warn, Ramsey or another big name.) Get a new cable and run it. If there are continuing problems down the road then you can still use the solenoid and cable as spares/upgrades to the winch you would then have to buy.

I bought my replacement solenoids from the local NAPA store. Just make sure you get a continuous duty solenoid and you should be ok.
If they are the same as an old Warn, I will send you two for $15.00 + shipping.
