So the $400 Ransey did not pan out, here is what I am thinking.

-Warn M8000, $550 from 4WP, free shipping!
-80' of 5/16" Rockstomper winch line with 10' protective sheath, $120 from Rockstomper
-Spidertrax aluminum fairlead, $50 from Rockstomper
-Some bolt on shackle mounts for the TJM

Also I would like to upgrade the hook, any suggestions? Only one I saw that I liked was $50

So how does this sound? This would be my first winch, but I use them at work a lot too so I'm not a total newb. This would all be mounted in a TJM t-13 bullbar.

Comments, suggestions, ideas, concerns?

sounds good. that's pretty much what i've got.

the warnm8000 is a proven winch, can't go wrong there.

 

If you want more of the protective sheath you can get it at REI for really cheap.

offroadoverstock has a nice hook that is $37. Do a search over there for hooks. I have the giant normal looking hook from Rockstomper and if I knew it was so big I would have gotten the one from offroadoverstock or the $50 from rockstomper.

 

Definitely go for a self locking "safety" hook.
