I consider all recovery equipment a life/death decision and not something you want to skimp on. What do you think the chances are that you'll be in a nasty situation and think "I wish I had saved $100 on this winch"? More likely, you'll be fighting with an inferior product with super slow line speed and overheating thinking "I wish I bought a Warn"

I've wheeled with Formulatoy(the fella who got banned from yt for some ridiculous reason) and he used the snot out of his Warn 8000lb. I was extremely impressed by how well it worked. I was also extremely suprised at how hard it had to work and how hot the motor on the winch would get. This leads me to believe that if that warn8000 was getting really warm, and straining in some situations....well I woud HATE to see how a cheaper winch would have reacted to the same abuse. and that is what you will do with your winch ABUSE it.... my theory is if you are going to abuse something and you expect it to survive you better buy the best damn piece of equipment you can afford.

I have a Warn m8000. Ive used it quite a bit, more than I thought and its been great.

I wouldnt hesitate to buy a used Warn winch either, given its still in good condition. Most people with winches rarely use them, so buying used can really save you some $$ and you can get a real nice setup.

Let me know what they tell you Boston. I may be able to help you out since my company is a warn distributor. I am not sure how competitive our pricing is since we usually just buy the industrial stuff from Warn. I could have it drop shipped directly to you from Warn. Let me know if I can help.
