Ben looking into getting a winch bumper but there are not that many options.

Which ones do you all have and why.

Also pictures would be nice

I like the Allprooffroad one but i want something that come up like a brush gaurd also.

 

im running the arb. why? because, i liked how it look on coreys rig, so i had to do the same!. hehe

I have a Badland Bumpers front tube winch bumper because everyone has an ARB or TJM, and it makes mine unique well except for 89-4Run's.

 

If I did not have my ARB already, I'd have one like Rome's from Jeff @ Badland Bumpers.

TJM T-15. Main reasons for buying: It has a winch mount, and it fits my 2000 4Runner without any cutting or grinding on the mounting points.

The turn signal lights in the TJM seem pretty cheezy to me - they definitely didn't go overboard on those!

I like the AP because they have a matching rear bumper and slider set. These are designed for maximum approach angle.

I ran head on into Matt in his Ford Bronco (sliding down and icy hill and couldn't stop). The bumper was completely undamaged and I cant say the same for his Bronco. The only broken thing I had was a very poor weld - whoops!

I just like the way it looks. And it took a light hit against a tree pretty well.

I have an ARB and wish I would've gone w/ an All Pro style bumper instead. As Gibby pointed out, their bumper was designed for max approach angle and this is completely the opposite w/ my ARB. The tow points on the ARB are a little weak too. I managed to tweak/bend the ones on my friend's Toy when I pulled him to bump start the truck. The one thing I don't like about the AP one, is that when I'm winching it always pulls down on the front end before it pulls forward. I'm not sure if that has to do with the soft springs I'm running or the high winch mount.

As a result the rig nose dives. This isn't a real problem when pulling someone else, but it is when pulling myself. I have to find an anchor that is very high. If I was in mud, instead of the front end being pulled up and out, the tires would actually be forced deeper into the mud. This seems better when I use the snatch block and hook the other end to the hooks that I welded on to the frame. It seems to give a more even pull.

On mine, I raised the bumper 2-3" higher than stock to accomodate for the body lift. That also weakens the mounts a little and probably compounds this problem.

 

TJM t-17 has proven it self against rocks snow mud and trees. excelent approch angles and a low hidden winch mount rated to a 9k winch[IMG]c:\toys\my toy\4runner up front.jpg[/IMG]

 

Got me a Prozap on my truck. Works really well as a place to jack against while trying to figure out how to do the SAS...

 

in all honnesty, is 1024x768 too big? i consider that too small for any pictures i take with my camera. i normally take pictures at 1600x1200

what size resolution do you run? i barely have to scroll to see that picture

 

For a printed image, yes 1024x768 is too small, but with an image seen on the screen, usually 72dpi and about 6" wide/tall does the trick to get the point across. This smaller resolution also helps the page load faster for the dialup guys/gals.
This is all OT of course.
BTW, I use 1024x768 screen resolution on my LCD (most it will take).

To keep this OT, my front bumper is stock still, but I'd love to get an ARB or similar modified to bolt up to my 2wd (or modify my bumper mounts?).

I'm with Todd.

YT is set up for 800x600 max I think. I do 640x480 for my pics. Allows me to get a ton of pics on the memory stick and, since I'm not printing any of these, it works well. Like Todd said, they load faster and still get the point across. "Barely" scrolling left to right is too much. If you can't resize, post a link instead. My opinion.

My LCD is at 1024x768 also. Gibby's original pic was bigger than the one up there now IIRC. If I plan on printing, I set the digicam for the max res (3.2) and shoot away.

 

We like pics that are posted inline in a post to be not bigger than 800x600.
I run my res on the monitor at 1024x768, and anything bigger than 800x600 in a post, and I have to scroll sideways.

Bigger pics can be linked, then we can view it better.
That is why I use thumbnails in my posts here sometimes, as they link to the bigger 1024x768 version.
