I want some onboard air, but dont know where im gonna put the compressors(2). I'm going to use 2 caddy air suspension compressors like someone else did on here awhile back. I dont want them to get wet so under the car is probably not good. My engine compartment is full, so please help !
Thanks

you could always put them in my truck
maybe you could fit them in the back somewhere? or maybe under the rear seat, with some insulation or dynamat to keep it quieter

If your 91 has the spare on the back, there is all kinds of room under the rear end. Even with the spare in there, just ahead of the spare is some space. Steve (Robinhood) has his there. He probably even has a writeup.

I have two of those compressors and a 7 gallon tank under my truck above the rear axle. I wheeled in some pretty wet conditions this weekend. I even forgot to turn them off for the drive home. They're fine. As long as you don't run them submerged I think they'll be okay. If not, I head back to the junk yard for a couple more.

I would try the rear cargo compartments, seriously.
I have my ARB under the hood and could likely fit another. It sits near the brake master cylinder.
Underneath works, but IMHO it is only practical with the tire out of there.

I tucked a Viair 450c up on the passenger side fender well:

To make this happen, I had to move the cruise control unit, but that was a breeze.

Cruise?
I had space on the fender wall and stuck it there. I did not move anything, just held up the bracket, drilled some holes, took off the fender and installed the bolts.

kyle_22r,
Do you have more pics of your truck? I put together a toy model of that truck when I was a kid! I remember assembling that front end very well! Man, that brings back memories.
Anyway, nice truck! I always loved those.

It's the black box just beyond the compressor with the secondary throttle cable coming out of it that looks like the cruise box.
914runner:
Yeup, you can absolutely relo the cruise box. The only thing to be careful of is to not kink the cable or put it through too sharp of a bend. You want to give it a nice gentle curve to work through, or a straight shot if you can.
And fyi, there's no adjustment required after you move it.

My caddies are actually mounted above the axle. If you look at the sheetmetal above the axle, you'll probably find that it is amazingly clean. Despite going through 18in of mud I found mine was pretty clean. It's also pretty high too. When going through water, the water line will be well above the door seals before the compressors get dunked. Here's my writeup: http://www.robinhood4x4.com/compressors.htm

Why 2 Caddy compressors...are they super small...or weak?
Just got a smaller version of the infamous York compressor this past weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to fit it somewhere (well, hopefully it'll fit easily...I'll wrestle it if I have to).
