Where does your oil go?

After putting my 4Runner on it's side a couple of weeks back, having my oil seep into my cylinders., and having to pump the oil out of my cylinders (all over my freshly cleaned engine bay) what do you do if you tip your rig on it's side or lid while out on the trail? Do you just flip it over and cross your fingers or is there something you do to prevent this from happening?

Mine was on it's side less than an hour and they were full...all 6 but some more than others.

Don't flop.

If you do, upright, take out plugs and blow out oil by cranking.

Clean up your mess, wipe off plugs, reinstall, crank and run. Watch truck smoke like hell.

Nothing that you can do that I know of. Just get it flipped back over ASAP.

Just curious, did you know that may be the case before attempting to start it or after?

EDIT: Yeah, don't roll your rig in ¼ ½ or ¾ increments. Makes sure they're full rolls only.

Oh... it smoked like an old dozer on a cold alaskan morning, 20 minutes later it was good to go.
