is it a 4x2 or a 4x4? here look @ this thread and determine what you have..... if its a 4x4 its the 30 spline 8"

4x2s normally had the 7.5" but some had the 8"

Also correct me if I am wrong but if I put a locker such as the Aussie in the front of my truck, it cannot engage unless I have the hubs locked correct? So in a sense it is like a selectable locker, but not as cool as an ARB

i know, i gave that link as info..... um an aussie up front is bad... yeah it will be selectable but its manners offroad will suck big time! it acts like a spool.... erally an lsd is best up front.... a locker works too... but be careful the front isnt strong liek the rear axle.... especially with cvs..... they snap like plastic with a locker in any thing resembling not perfectly straight

actually a "lunchbox locker" like the aussie isn't a bad choice for the front. although a selectable one is the best, the aussie can disengage in turns. with power steering, as long as you don't have huge tires it should be manageable.

yes, if you unlock the hubs you won't know its there at all, and even if the hubs are locked it shouldn't engage unless you're in 4wd. they respond to torque, if there's no torque going in, it won't engage.
