Warn Tabor Winches?

Has anyone had experience with these?
At nearly half the price of their regular lineups, with the same capacity ratings, my curiosity is peaked to say the least.

Why are they so bloody cheap?

The best I can gather is they are Warn's older technology. Bear bones w/ no bells and whistles... They had to come out with something to compete w/ MileMarker and such. I got the 9k model for x-mas. I have yet to pull with it but it seems solid... happy so far... I'll put up something when I finaly use it.

I have one on my truck. it seems to be holding up pretty well to my river crossings and my mud bogging. Seems solid and a good price. Fit perfectly in my ARB. the one from costco wouldn't. Can't beat the price since I don't intend on using it too much. it is more of insurance since we sometimes go out without anybody else.

I picked mine up from National 4wd in Calgary. It was $700 cnd so about $600 us. It is also the 9000lb. When I first went in to get my ARB he has about a dozen. 3 days later and he only had a couple left. I don't know if he has gotten more shipped in or not. This was back in the beginning of september
