Warn Rockcrawler bumper...

I saw this on Warn's site not too long ago...and posted on another board..but here is a new bumper released by Warn for 89-95 Toyotas. Resembles the TJM/ARB's alot, I wonder how it compares quality wise. Warn generally makes some quality bumpers from my experiences...

here is the link.

i used to have a built 79 Bronco w/ a Warn winch and custom front bumper. At the time I was looking into a different setup, I looked at a Warn front bumper made for my truck. It looked similar to this one and may have been an "enforcer." It looked great and would hold a winch, but what a POS. It wouldn't hold up to ANY bumping on the trail, no strenght to it. I know nothing about this one, but wanted to share my poor experince w/ a Warn bumper.

yeah I have seen those 'enforcer' bumpers and they do look similiar to this one. Some of the jeep bumpers have a good reputation...I wonder what route Warn took on this bumper.

I like it. It looks like you can use a winch with an integrated solenoid. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you have to use a winch with a removable solenoid in arb/tjm bumpers?

That does look pretty nice, and I hope the quality and strength is there.

I also dig those "fake" beadlock black wheels, and I am thinking about those in the future for my rig when I re-shoe it.

Price?

It would be my guess that it is cheaper than the ARB/TJM brand bumpers...I'm sure the top 'hoop' part is another 125+ though...but since Warn is a US based company it has to be more competitively priced than the TJM/ARB...

of course thats anyones guess...

someone buy it and let us know how it is!

which is why,i believe, in the past their bumpers weren't as durable as other brands (i.e. TJM, ARB, etc)

While we're on the subject of these style bumpers. Who here actually thinks TJM bumpers are durable at all. I mean the ARBs are pretty strong but ive even seen these fail in some weak circumstances. But the TJM's are total turds. I saw a guy put one on a Bronco and that bumper was huge but it only weighed like 45-50lbs and was made of like 1/16 in steel and had even weaker side guards. Also it only mounted to the stock bumper brackets with like 6 bolts. I've also heard horror stories about them crumbling like tin foil.

Unless you like the look of these boxy bumpers on mini trucks why not go with a tube bumper, less weight, less wind resistance, CHEAPERx2, WAY stronger (DOM), better access to winch, I think they look better on smaller trucks. sorry just my .02

I agree

I agree - nothing beats a well designed tube bumper. I can bash my bumpers and drag them over rocks all day long just as many of you do with your sliders...same concept...they are almost impossible to dent too.

It says on WARN's site that the bumper is made out of 3/16" and 1/4" steel.

If that thing is under $400 I may look at getting one, since my stock bumper is thrashed.

I agree as well. I had 2 TJM T-17's. After a couple tight tree trail runs my TJM was tweaked.
My current bumper is way stronger it's built from DOM and 1/4" plate. It can take some serious abuse.
