That is one cool rig! Must be fun to play aroun in. Bet the doors will help some off road as well. Is that you DD as well or do you have a 2nd rig?

Thanks guys. I DD this truck every day, all day and just grin all the way. I have a 99 SL4x4 Suburban I tow it out of state with, but drive it to the Ohio Trails on a regular basis.

I just picked up a 91 runner in great shape for 1250.00 and will start working on that in June as the new DD and just drive the Trekker as a special truck. I'm torn though, I love it so much and it's really old and not sure how it will hold up to trail use and DD all the time.

The doors provide amazing vision up front and excited to test them offroad this weekend. Although last night coming home in shirt and tie a rain storm busted out and the drivers front tire being wider than the truck just shot water all up my left side and was totally SOAKED when I got home.

Fun though

Thanks Adam. You can find the paint at most Army Navy Surplus outlets for about 3.99 a can. Nice thing about this paint is it eats rust and prevents it. It should say on the label that it meets Department of Defense standards for color and rust prevention. Initially bought 10 cans and used 6 to paint the truck and 4 cans for the extras.

Oh yeah It's really breezy in there now and if it's not nailed down it gets blown around. Good thing is crap doesn't accumulate long. I hate cleaning the truck out too

It's in there pretty good, but I know what you mean. Totally. I don't trust it either. I believe All-Pro's new doors use a latch. I think Marlin's were the right price though

Very cool. Square would look nice too. There's not alot in materials with these and bet you could probably find a extra set of doors and pirate the latches from there. DIY projects are always the coolest IMO. It's easy to call up and say send em' but makin' them is another.

I may have to do that this summer too. I plan on bedlining the floor first though.

What's the name of that paint? You can spray it right over rust? Might be good for parts under a truck.

I'll look tonight and post up more specs on the paint. It's a rust inhibitor, but doubt it works as well as POR-15

Got the Lift Shackles/Brake Line Extensions/Rear Shocks/ and Sliders on Saturday. Mounting the PowerTank tonight.

Crawler Box/ Drive Shafts and Rear bumper any day now. Starting the Cage tonight. Just not enuff time in the day.

Here's a pic without the lift shackles.

Almost ready for Tellico.

Here's a little idea I had I am thinking if I get tube doors I want to add speakers to them.
I'd be using the stock sized speakers and putting them in small metal boxes and welding them to the doors.

That's a good idea. I've thought of wrapping them in some of the Camo Cordura to keep the water and splatter from the tires off. You could easily hide a set of speakers in there.

googles are a must if you are driving at any speed over 15-20 on dirt roads...whether or not you are following someone the dust will just swirl inside the cab...but there is nothing like driving with the doors off...its so much nicer and visibility is awesome.
