the truth about panhards

I've been running square tires for like 6 months because someone on the internet told me that they flexed better than round ones. I can't drive anywhere, but i sure have a great RTI score.
TX2RUNNER1997, i would say that if you really want to lift this truck, don't mess with a product until you're sure its gonna work. Sounds like your dad doesn't want you to lift it, and if you get some new thing, i doubt its going to make him change his mind. I would wait, save up money and do a bunch more research. Then, once you go to college, and the truck is yours, lift the bastard. Until then, don't push your dad's buttons.
I'm certainly not saying that you shouldn't lift your truck, i think you should for sure, but i'd wait. Plus, some other people can try out this new product, and you can see if it's what you want. If it is, great, if not, then you can go back to a drop bracket or bent bar. Also, if you wait, you can do the lift, the bracket, the bodylift, and new tires and wheels all at once, and only pay for one time in the shop rather than a bunch of times. Good luck.

yeah, i explained the whole thing to him, and he seemed a little more at ease. so maybe i can butter him up some more and eventually maybe he'll let me get it. i appreciate the help though, and i will do some more research on this. problem is, most of the websites talking about suspension geometry really applies more to race cars. i'm sure i can find more though.
thanks

Ya, well, i went through the same thing with my dad, and it was like pullin teeth. Then once i got to college, saved up the money, and lifted it, he was like, "wow, that's pretty good. Guess it wasn't as big a deal as i thought". He's even lifted his truck. I'm just saying, don't push the issue, since it'll just be harder on you. Your pops cares about you, that's all, and doesn't want to see you wrapped around some pole or flipped over on the local interstate. Once he see's it's not as bad as the hype makes it out to be, it'll be fine.

Time for me to seriously look at the panhard. My truck is tippy. No doubt about that. She's a 2nd Gen on 35's with messed up front leafs and rear land cruiser coils. It should NOT have rolled on a simple approach to an obstacle on hells revenve. (Going down into a hot tub with some lean) Limiting straps are in order. But TC alerted me to the panhard issue. Mine is flush with my rear axle running down the horizontal center of it. I'd love to see more pics of 2nd Gens and what you did. How key is the panhard placement in terms of roll-a-bility? I know it affects the roll center, but limmiting straps do too.. espceially when you are going down hill and your rear opens up.
Your 2 cents is greatly appreciated!
