transfercase gear ratio?
#21
I beg to differ robotmoose, I run thirty threes, and barely notice a difference from my previous thirty ones. Stop to start with ac on is Pretty sluggish.but if I turn off ac I wouldn't know any difference. My tires still squeal around the corners from a stop. Don't know how it will affect me in the hills yet,may be a different story.only difference I've noticed is ac,and haven't used fifth gear. Has been all flat land so far,I'm pretty sure a few extra rpm up the hill will be just fine to move these thirty threes up in elevation

Try going up a long hill in 5th gear, or even 4th, then report back how happy you are. Flat vs mountain driving are two very different things. 22re will also handle the tire size jump differently than the v6.

Yeah, going up hills in my truck with 31's, 4.10s and a 4 cyl brought the suck. You never said what you want the lower gearing for, if its for wheeling, then duals or 4.7's will work, but if you want it for the street, the transfercase aint got nothing to do with it, your high gears all stay the same.
