Just like a tank, or an Argo 8x8. It's got levers inside the cab that go through the floor. Those control the steering by slowing/stopping one side of the tracks, while the other side keeps going.

one pic shows two levers like an old tank, probably turns by locking up one brake--

I can appreciate the work it is kind of cool but dang it is fugly

Locking up a brake. I didn't even think of that. I knew the answer had to be simple. Keep it open diffs, and lock up one brake and viola! she turns.
