I liked that your tires don't stick out too much, here is mandatory to have the wheels covered with fender flares, and I've my 31's in the very edge of my fender flares hehe

I get very similar movement when adding weight to my tailgate. I took the measurements a while ago when I was considering a new rear bumper, I decicided against it for just that reason.

I got very close to 4" from the coils with the back empty, add a larger spare and tools and it is about 3+ inches now, load it up with camping gear and I try not to look at it. I am running a 4" bracket lift up front.

I am going to add a spacer and/or switch to OME 862's which are a little stiffer and 1/2" longer. Slee talked me out of 862's initially because I didn't have a lot of weight in the rear.

Picture attached, coil diameter measures .60" and .61".

 

ok so i got some measurements. (I was bored today)

'93 FJ80 Coils under no load:
1' 7 1/8" tall = Long Side
1/6 9/16" tall = Short Side
Diamiter of both sides is 3cm exactly

'94 4Runner Coils under no load:
1' 2" = "Short Side"
1' 2 1/16" = "Long Side"
Diamiter of both sides is 13mm exactly

'96 FJ80 Coils on my 4Runner and BJ spacers in the front. measurements are rim to fender with a 15" rim with a full tank of gas and nobody sitting inside. with 2 10" MTX subs and a tool box in the back.
Passenger Rear = 1' 3 7/16"
Passenger Front = 1' 3 1/2"
Driver Rear = 1' 3 3/8"
Driver Front = 1' 3 1/4"

Difference in height on the tail gate from the ground with me sitting on it and me not sitting on it is 1 15/16" and i weigh about 200 lbs.

yeah, essentially 2" but im fat. 200 on the end of the tail gate. stock rear bumper and all that goodness.

 

I have FJ80 Coils and when I sit on the tailgate the rear doesn't move much. I weight about 185. I’ll measure tomorrow. My rear sits higher than the front and I’m 16.5 rim to fender up front.

 

Update.

I picked up some 93 rear coils and took some measurements. The numbers actually don't say much, infact they're pretty close.

The only obvious difference I see is that the 93 LC coils have a shaved, flat top while the LX coils just end, as you can see from this picture

(The springs are lined up with the concrete crack and the measuring tape shows the difference in height. LC coils on left, LX coils on right)


So what did I find out? Well I threw the 93 LC coils on the 4runner fully expecting to have the same height as LX coils, but to my surprise I found I had gained 1 inch in height. That's what I was looking for all along. I've even put on about 400 miles with a trip to pismo dunes...same height now.

So in summary, the dimensions are similar but the way the spring terminates is different. The LC coils gave me 1" more lift than the LX coils. If you want less lift than the normal cruiser coil swap, try the lexus springs. In my case, the heavy rear bumper really brought things down and I needed the extra lift of the land cruiser coils.
