Question Swapping Frame/Chassis?

Ok so here is my question. I have a buddy that will sell me an entire rolling chassis from an 84. Basically everthing but the body. is it possible to swap my 93 body and drivetrain to this solid axle 84 chassis? just a thought, I'm good at wrenching, but I don't weld...so I was wondering if this is a viable option for a cheap alternative to SAS.

yes, it is possible but its got to be the worst idea ever. Yet people seem to ask it regularly.

If you want a solid axle, do a SAS.

There are 2 things that need to be welded to SAS your truck and both can be attached before cutting off your suspension, meaning that you could take it some place to have it welded up and still drive your truck away and you can do the cutting and swapping at home...

You need to do a lot more research. I mean what on Earth would make you think doing a frame swap would be easier than SASing???

Sorry, I guess it was a dumb question. I was just curiouse if anyone had done it. I have a buddy that will help me fab up an SAS, I just need to part out the rest of the 84 yota for some extra funds.
