steel bends alum breaks. this is moot if you are running double locks but i doubt you want to. I have seen on my rig and at least 5 other rigs where the inside rim lip takes a hard hit and cracks and/or a chunk breaks off completely on a alum rim. a steel rim will always get you home cause all you need to repair it is a big hammer.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Stazworks. If I had it to do again I would probably have them make my wheels.
Cheaper and complete control over the dimentions since they can make anything you want. Application, offset, size, etc.
The wheels I have now are not the regular beadlocks. The wheel itself is actually 2 pcs. that bolt together and use a rubber ring sandwiched between the beads to maintain the beads. They are very light, only take about 5 minutes to mount a tire with just a torque wrench, do not leak and are DOT legal.
The downside? No custom sizes or offsets and the big one--price.
You could get an entire set from Stazworks and be on your way to paying for your tires for what a single Hutchinson wheel costs with the internal double beadlock.
The stazworks wheels are internal double beadlocs also.

My buddy I went to WYO Tech with owns Stazworks. He said he'll make any wheel I want, but the weight issue keeps me away from steel wheels.

I purchased from Hi-Impact - I would highly recommend. Check the link above under 'distributors' in CA for a link to their site. For some reason it offers better and more up to date info than Allieds site.

I really like the Allied al beadlocks. Only reasonably priced, forged al wheels on the market. Can you give me a weight on your setup?

I am currently in process of ordering some DIY beadlocks from GreatLakesOffroad.com for around $250 shipped for (5) I hope. I'm getting some "extra" stuff done. His weld inside the lip instead of on top of it so the coning is much less. I'll keep you posted.

They are nice wheels, and extremely strong. I believe the wheel weighs 34lbs (15x10), not sure how much a 37x12.5r15 MTR weighs?

From what I can tell, they weight about the same as my old 15x8 steel wheels with 35x12.5 Xterrains.

37 MT/Rs weigh 67 lbs each. I know as I'm shipping some this week.

Got some new meats a coming.
