I love mine! Pulled a giant log off the road last week to get to my favorite archery spot. Last winter I used it a number of times to get unstuck as well as moving logs etc. Have not had any issues whatsoever.

Love mine, pulled my self out if 3' of snow, and tried to pull a stump out, didn't work but did drag my truck with all 4tires locked up. Buy it from 4wheel parts and get the lifetime warranty.

I'm diggin up a (sort of) old thread and have a new question..
I can't seem to get a clear confirmation that the XRC10 Comp-Series will fit fine in an ARB Taco bumper. Anyone running this combo? I'm ready to pull the trigger, but want to make sure 1st.

The XRC10 is almost 1.5" taller than the XRC8.
XRC10 - 21.15 x 6.3 x 8.6
XRC8 - 21 x 6.22 x 7.283
I'd rather go for the 10K comp-series because it's only $65 more than the 8K comp-series at 4wheelonline.com, but don't want to buy it and find out it's too tall.

They're exactly the same other than that. The pics show the box directly over the spool on the comp-series, but over the motor on the regular XRC8. That doesn't matter though because that box gets mounted wherever you want it to.

^^^ What he said.
Also, this may have been covered else where, but...
What are the draw-backs to the synthetic line? I am figuring the UV from the sun must give it a shorter life then the cable. Si what is the advantage of the expensive synth line? Weight?
I too am debating over the 8 and 10
thanks

i was wondering about the synthetic rope too. how does it do with the uv i live in a desert kinda we have a lot of sun and i wouldn't want the rope to get damaged. plus i have spare wire rope about a 500 foot roll i could always make more from if i damage the first.

i would like to save on the weight. i plan on mounting it on a stinger that i can use front or back. the light weight would be nice to carry and store in my toolbox. hows the synthetic for wear and tear, and uv? if it rips you can't just cut and re braid it back into it's self?

found this on a site selling Amsteel Synthetic Winch Rope
"How does synthetic rope hold up to UV exposure?
Amsteel Blue has a proprietary urethane-based coating, factory-applied, to help it resist UV radiation. Additionally, Amsteel Blue was not actually designed for the 4WD industry; it was developed for offshore commercial fishing purposes, where it would be exposed to nearly-constant sunlight. Because of these design criteria, it resists UV exposure very well."
However, the lifespan is not addressed.
