Shock placement?

Shock placement?
Okay, my factory shocks are placed in the normal place. I'm getting new leafs soon, and I've seen shocks that are placed in the normal lower spot...but at the top the shocks were moved to the center of the vehicle so the shocks are placed like this ^. Is there are reason for that? Thanks!

Allows you to fit a longer shock for more droop without cutting the bed, BUT lowers the damping force of the shock. At 45*, the damping force is half the normal, resulting in less control over the wheels and body roll.
I would keep them as vertical as possible, cut through the bed and mount them to a cage if necessary.
