Old Man Emu strut replacement ???
Hello everyone.
I have a 2004 model RAV4, which I drive very often off-road, mainly on more rocks-than-dirt paths in the Sierra Madre Oriental in northern Mexico. On 2009 I fitted it with a complete OME (Old Man Emu) suspension system, which has worked wonderfully, and consists of:
- OME 031 (rear shock absorbers)
- OME N119S (front right shock absorber)
- OME N123S (front left shock absorber)
- OME 793 (front coil springs)
- OME 795 (rear coil springs)
It's been 5 years now and almost 100000 km on it, so I need to replace this hardworking suspension kit, but unfortunately ARB is no longer manufacturing the OME front struts (OME N119S and OME N123S).
So here goes for you all:
- What other brand of struts would you recommend, that would work as well or at least nearly as well as the Old Man Emu one, coupled with front Old Man Emu coil springs? Consider what I said about my off-road driving conditions, so I NEED IT TO WORK WELL, I'm not just wanting the truck "to look cool".
Here's two photographs to illustrate what I'm talking about:

Thanks a lot for any advice on this one!
