New Toy!!!
I have just acquired an 84 Pickup LWB 4x4, and I am ready to start the transformation. I am looking to fit 35 inch tires, and I want a good amount of flex. Genuine suspension has a good deal on a 4 inch suspension that sounds pretty good to me. I was thinking of using this suspension, and maybe buying the revolver shackles to help with droop. What are your ideas? Thanx for any help.

i wouldnt spend the money on that honestly, if you can weld, get 63" chevy springs in the rear, and put your rears up front, it flexes awesome!!! you can clear 35's no prob, and its cheap!!! oh ya i wouldnt use the revolver shackes, as they have bad problems unloading when your going up and down hill. the suspension setup that i mention shouldnt cost you more than $3-400 check out www.sky-manufacturing.com they have what you need to do it

Pirate4x4 Toyota FAQ's:

Tons of info on mods, including the chevy spring conversion.
Personally, I don't like the chevy swap. You never know what your getting w/ used springs, they require a substantial block to level the truck, and are very prone to severe axle wrap on difficult trails. My choice was the 5" lift All Pro springs. They have a full military wrap, and don't wrap up to bad under extreme torque loading.

get some quality leaf springs - you'll be impressed how great a leaf sprung toyota suspension can ride if you put some quality leafs under there. Alcans, Deavers, National, All Pro, Marlin...do it right the first time and save in the long run thats how I look at it.
I run Alcans and they are SMOOTH and FLEX alot, but the other manufactures also produce quality products. good luck

get the chevy springs from an 88-96 truck i think, and no you dont need a substantial lift block, or one at all you can get your lift by arching the springs, or getting some lift shackles, read the faq from pirate there is a wealth of information on there,
