My 4Runner's uneven!

I went for an excursion yesterday with some friends to a place caleld the "devil's den"....just your basic mud pits, light rock crawling, etc...
After I got home I noticed the truck was resting differently....I just ignored it becuase my driveway is on a little bit of a slope and uneven. Well, today I measured the back end of the truck in a parking lot and there's exactly 1" difference between the pass. and driver's back end. On the driver's side I have 5 & 3/4" clearance between the top of the tire and the fender flare, but on the passenger side, there's 6 & 3/4" clearance.

I have the Revtek 3" spacer lift installed, with everything else (suspension-wise) stock. I was thinking it's a worn spring/shock....what do you guys think?

My guess would be a busted shock. I'd measure them to see or have someone push on the car to see how each responds. Just a guess as i have no experience.

Make sure your springs are sitting right.

Why would a broken shock have any influence on ride height? They provide no lift, only damping of motion. The exception are high pressure shocks like bilsteins, but even they lift very minimally.

If your coil got twisted somehow, it may not be sitting right.

Mud in the coilover?

My foolish co-workers told me they broke the Focus last summer when they got stuck in a rain storm on the ranch. After I pulled about 10 pounds of mud out of each coilover, the car was fine.

Additionally, two things.

Have you stuck your head underneath to see if anything is amiss?

Do you know what the clearance measurment was before the trip or if it was even equal?

mabey you do not have a full tank of gas now, i know on tacos there is a differnce in ride height from that.

Yeah, it was a good day! I went with 2 wranglers, one of them was my coworker's and the other belongs to guy who owns a local offroad shop called Outback Offroad.
We hit some pretty deep mud pits/water, some of which were so deep that water came inside a little bit, afterwards I had chunks of mud stuck in my grille guard
These wranglers were doing some serious stuff! The Outback Offroad guy was aired down to 10 PSI rock crawling, climbing walls, even went down a little rock cliff that was litterally a 5 foot (at least) drop with no probs. I should have some pics to put up soon!
Besides the lift being uneven now, I bottomed out hardcore on something going into a mud pit and broke the trailer connection on my hitch. I also bent the two front skid plates a little bit (I think I landed on a tree trunk or something that was underwater), and I lost the OEM hitch cover that says Toyota on it.

I crawled under the truck today to see if anything seemed wrong....everything in the back seems fine. But, my knowlege about this kinda thing is limited at the moment! I guess I'll be calling the stealer tomorrow...maybe I can get away with something being replaced under warranty!

I give anothe vote for gas in the tank. The tank is positioned more towards the driver's side and when full could possibly weigh it down. However a complete inch seems a little much for just a full tank of gas.

the weight of the driver plus a full tank of gas on a regular basis will wear the driver side springs alot faster than the passenger side. (also your batt is on the driver side too).

So over time, this will be evident. I think you're fine. Just check your suspension to make sure nothing is stuck (mud/twigs/wood/animals!) hehe. Clean up the truck and then take a look underneath for any damages to your suspension. if nothing is amiss then you are fine.

I figured it could be something like that. Right now I have a little less than 1/2 tank and the measurements are still the same. I'm gonna crawl under there tomorrow and inspect things real closely before I go to the dealer.
I know the back springs tend to wear out causing the notorious back end sag in 4runners, but has anyone ever heard of it happening to a 4runner with 32k on it?

how bought this...I'm sitting uneven now. Lower on the drivers side then the passenger. I just noticed. I definitely put the longer coil in the driver side when I lifted as I've sat level for months.

Saturday I had to leave my car parked with the driver side flexed pretty good and the passenger side stuffed for about 30-60min. I feel like it was a little off before that too though.

I guess I might swap the coils to the other sides and see how I'm sitting for now. It's probably about 1" difference. I haven't gone to check with a tape measure as of yet.

Actually I did the same thing too. I parked halfway on some sand behind a local rock club. There was a TRD taco parked there too...I couldn't resist. Maybe I just didn't notice it until after the run when I was looking the rig over

Nope, not yet. The guy that installs lift kits at the local stealership only works mornings and gets off at 5:00. I'm working 8 - 4 this whole week and I'll inevitably get stuck for an extra 30-40 mins (like today). But, I'll go next week sometime.

Strangely, I measured the back today again, and I gained back 1/2" WTF is up with that?? :wtf:

I can only assume that by stretching our driver side spring out, we broke it in a bit more than the passenger side.

I pulled mine after work today just to make sure that I had the longer coil on the driver side, and I did.

Even tried putting it on the other side, just to see if it would end up more level, but it was pretty dramatically off the other way. The passenger side was at least 2" higher.

I can't think of anything else that I would have done that would cause the lopsidedness. It's pretty annoying, but I guess I'll just have to live with it for a bit and see if I become any more level with time.

If not, I can only assume that I have bum coils.
