Keep in mind that the Aussie is a Positive Locking = always locked untill there is a difference in wheelspeed ( turning ). Unlike the Detroit (negative locking) = open until difference in torque on each wheel, when it locks.

Brain is good, selectable locking is better.

thanks man...just found it like 10 minutes ago sounds like the locker to add to the front for extreme traction or rock climbing...but i'm still torn between front or rear? maybe aussie for rear and detroit ez locker for front or vice versa? hell i dont know...i go 4wheeling on trails that consist of hillclimbs and mud.

I beleive that someone mentioned earlier that detroit Ez is unlocked till you hit the gas while the aussie is locked until you go into a turn....

yeh...i think i will shoot them an email. i just don't like the fact that if say powertrax or ez locker is engaged by stepping on the gas then what about snowy weather and i know if you get to sliding with both wheels spinning then thats bad ju ju! if the aussie is engaged all the time then you can creep in snow and get by with no tire spin. i could be wrong about this whole opinion. so if someone else can chime in with their experiences with other non selectable lockers then feel free! hate to read the advertisers talk about how great their product is and how it functions but when ya get it yourself it is totally different.

The lockright, ez and aussie all work exactly the same. When they get torque input, they lock. When you are on the throttle, they lock. They all unlock when you let off the throttle or are on it very lightly, all 3 will exhibit locker steer (which detroits will, too BTW, they arent unlocked all the time), they will all chirp tires if you are on the throttle and making a turn, and they will all make donuts and powerslides in the snow a lot more fun. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but they are far from dangerous if you have a brain in your head.

So which one would be the stronger, most reliable and worth its money? I used to have a spooled 72 chevelle so I know how tricky they can be on wet road and snow.

wow this is the second time today i've mentioned this...your in luck though.

I had detroit put on my jeep. 4x2 it sucked in the snow big time, engage 4x4 and it was great better then it was w/o the locker in 4x4. I was really nervous about this but once it snowed and I got out there to play i was really glad it wasnt too bad at all.

Granted you might have to keep it in 4x4 a little more then you use too. It aint no thing though....
