Lift/Regearing/Trans question

Just a couple quick questions, sorry if this is in the wrong place, and I searched before, and could'nt find the answer anywhere on the board. I picked up an '01 4runner sport supercharged about a year and a half ago. I had the ome +3"springs in the rear, and +2 1/2" daystar spacers in the front with new KYB gas adjust shocks all around. This truck is now just a beater/project truck. I don't do a lot of offroading, but I use it during the winter and on fire roads in the pine barens and upstate New York. The stock tires were size 265/75/16. I had new BFG ATs put on it that were 275/75/16, not much bigger. I was wondering, should I have the rear diff. re-geared, or would that just make it worse. I did not lose a noticeable amount of power, but was thinking about doing it. Also, I was contemplating having the tranny replaced. I really wanted to convert it to a 5 speed manual. But I was wondering if you had any info, or websites on this also. Thanks,
Jason

regearing will help out power, but i think that jump in tire size is such a negligible amount that there are better ways to spend $1000..... i run tires on my stock gearing that are over 6" larger in diameter than my stock sized tires

you probably could do a tranny swap, but i would personally just leave it alone for ease.... there are some writeups here on doing it i am sure.....

Thanks, I was kinda thinking the tire size would be negligible. But since this truck is no longer a daily driver, I wouldnt mind having a stick in it. I really want to do a tranny swap once I stock trans wears out, which should be soon since I killed the TRAC system. Any info would be greatly appreciated. DO they even make interior parets for a 5 speed on this generation 4runner? Thanks,
Jason
