Lift question

I'm thinking about using the Cornfed 2.5" spacers in front and the OME 890s in the back, but unsure of what shocks to get. I will be doing mostly on-road driving with sometimes off-roading and maybe towing a 3,000 lb trailer. So is anyone is running a similar setup? What shocks are you using and how does it ride? Does the rear sag as much as stock with gear in the trunk or with a trailer? I'm looking for a slightly stiffer ride with less sag in the rear with gear. Any information or pics would be great.

You're going to get a bunch of people telling you to search based on your question. From what I've read, you want to go with OME shocks when you go with OME coils.

I've done some searching but decided to post a thread to get a definite answer.

So go with OME shocks even though I'm using the Cornfed spacers up front?

For the front, I plan on using Toytec 2.5 inch spacers with OEM shocks. There are alot of people who still use the OEM shocks on the front with spacers and see no issues at all.
For the rear though, from what I've read, definately go with OME shocks if you plan on using OME coils.

Good luck.

It depends on how many miles you have on the OEM shocks. These normally go out at about 100k or at least do not work as well when they're new. My OEM shocks were bad as my front tires started cupping at 95k miles so I replaced all four w/ the lift.

How well do the front OEM shocks feel with 2.5" spacers? Because I'm thinking about the Cornfed 2.5" Spacers and OEM shocks in front, and OME 890 Coils with the OME N86 Shocks in back. The only thing that I really don't like about the 3rd gen 4R is rear sag when loaded up. On my moms Pathfinder, it can hold a whole load and a 3,500 trailer w/o looking sagged, same with my dads LX470. But I have the ground clearence and rear locker...haha, sorry OT.

You may want to get the OME891 coils instead of the 890's if you plan on hauling light loads, etc.

I havent put my front spacers on yet, but from what I have read so far the ride seems to be pretty good with OEM front shocks. Alittle more firm but nothing horrible.

If you are going to be going ahead and putting the spacer in up front i would upgrade shocks too.

I would ditto this b/c it's a one-time thing. To put in the spacer, you have to take the strut assembly apart. If you pay for labor, putting in new shocks is included. If you do it yourself, it saves you from taking the strut assembly apart when you do upgrade shocks. My two cents...

I will also be doing a lift in the next few months probably going with a 2-2.5 inch lift but not sure who to buy from either daystar or cornfed. i have a 98 limited with 265/75/16. With that lift will it look ok with those size tires. also for 4RUNNIN let me know how it goes with yours post some pics.
