Talking IFS long travel kit performance

Just wondering what the experience has been with long travel kits for IFS. I have an 88 pickup single cab. I was thinking about installing one but I am afraid I will lose that smooth control at high speeds on gravel that I currently have. I almost drift my little stock yota at times on these back roads and I don't wanna lose that butter control and stability I have now. This is also why I don't lift the truck. It does all the rock crawling I need it too but with a little extra slidy fun. I would also like a good aftermarket front bumper but when I put a Warn tombstone bumper on the front it was to heavy and made the truck dive in the corners. Any upgrades that maximize handling but don't diminish rock capability I am all ears! Let me know what your thoughts are and what your set up is. I was under the impression you don't have to lift it for a long travel kit but I could be wrong? New to the forums so feel free in helping me navigate these forums a little better too lol
