I am just curious. In the attached picture, when something like this happens, how do people keep there interior ok? How do they keep the water out?

wet-vac its impossible to keep all the water out without a LOT of mods. In that picture, I believe it was flooded inside, and shorted out the fuse box, causing the alarm to keep going off (thats why the tail lights are on)

Thats an extreme situation.

for the more normal stuff, husky liners, wet okole seat covers and some towles do wonders.

Get rid of the carpet, roll on a liner, and get some floormats or husky liners, and the aforementioned seat covers.

I agree that is an extreme case there.

I just make sure to spend some time on the interior and exterior when I get back from a trip. I have the bling Runner reputation but I go everywhere the other guys do. I just like my rig to look good also. I am a firm believer that if you take care of your stuff...

I think the trick to not let it get out of hand between cleanings so you don't say screw it because it is beyond revival.

if youre cabin gets full, i'd recommend removing the seats, yank out the carpet & wash. then let it all dry out in the sun...last think you want is some stank ass bogged interior....mmmm.

I guess there are two general methods: 1) Embrace the water and let it in (but make sure all your computers and electrical items are mounted high) or 2) seal your truck up well. I recall reading an article in Four Wheeler or Peterson's where they had a cherokee tricked out to go into water. It was set up with sump pumps that pushed the water out through hoses that went out the windows.

I personally think that water is the toughest off road obstacle out there. The only way to beat it is to be over it, or seal it out....and most of us don't run 37 or bigger in the tire dept.

I'd like to see a thread on sealing water out of the cabs as well as engine. Snorkels of course but what about exaust? if that goes under you've got 0 for power.
