Question eliminate torsion bars

i was wondering is there a way to eliminate my torsion bars and go with
something like the coil overs (stock ones from a 96 or newer ). i have a
94 runner 3.0 auto. just wondering because pretty soon i'm going to replace them. this is mostly my dd and beach runner-sometimes fire roads and logging roads.

Yeah, but why?

Unless you go with a long travel (like the Total Chaos or JD Fab) or a SAS you're not going to really get any improvement out of all that work...

You can do it, it will be custom unless you go LT. You would have to remove the torsion bar, and shock and find a coilover that will fit in the middle of your upper a arm, and then build a mount. Then, it might not work all that great.

Good luck.

Protrux sells an upper arm that would allow for 2.5" diameter shock to fit in it. You could out a taco coilover through it, but you'd have to fab up an upper mount for the coilover.

www.protrux.net it's not on the site, but call and ask about the upper arm for 1st and 2nd gens.

ok to expensive, thought i could just maybe take off the torsions and add the
coil overs from a newer runner w/ some mods. main reason for this was so many people are just giving thier front strutts away.

Woody thanks
