dual T case install

I am working on adding a second Tcase To my 85 4runner. We have existing parts, and the adapter plate. "No install instructions ". The input shaft for the added Tcase doesn't fit all the way into the transmission ( the splines on the added case are hitting the transmission out put before the mating surfaces meet.
I think I was supposed to swap the input shafts front to rear before putting them together. I also have a second Tcase and stock Input shaft.
All my shafts are 21 spline.
The trail gear site showed an input shaft install as part of the manual but my parts were already installed in added case.
Any ideas????

I "THINK" you may have an input shaft that has to have some grinding on it for it to fit.

I never personally ran into this but have seen posts on Marlin's site about early style T-case input shafts needing mods to fit. If you can't find the info here check Marlin or Pirate Toyota Bible.

I think I have pics in my mini faq link in my sig.
There were some 79-80 cases that the shaft will not slip in and needs to be clearanced slightly.
The pics posted are from Big Mike of Marlin Crawler

I ran into this once, I had an extra input though so I swapped it..
With this style 21 spline input it should just slide in
