This is an interesting question since you're going to green sticker it but disabling smog isn't talked about on YT. I'm going to lock this thread for now and the staff will discuss this one. I'll get back to you about this thread later.

Your best source of info for disabling smog will come from pirate4x4.

I am in the finishing stages of a 22RE swap, my truck is smog exempt and I am *thinking* of not installing the EGR and smog equip., if I go this route I will check back here and let you know. Use google to search pirate for answers, they are there.

the egr isnt really a "smog" component, it helps remove unburnt gases from the crankcase.
be aware of what you remove and be sure that you have something to replace/plug it after. no other help for ya on a 22re

my 510 doesnt need any smog equip, it be exempt

No offense robinhood, your the MOD, but why in the world would you temporarily lock the thread, even if it was a street driver? Out here in the sticks of Indiana we don't even have smog checks. It is common practice around here to remove any and all of that stuff ! I'm not saying its right, but there are an awful lot of people that do. Vehicles also commonly get the converters removed. I also have seen atleast one thread discussing the removal of a converter. What is the diffirence? Isn't that removing smog?
Like I said you are the MOD and i'm not trying to cause a problem, just curious as to why the post was even considered being a problem?

By the way a short answer to your question would be to weld up some of the egr tubes, make some block off plates for other areas, and remove alot of vacuum tubes and other things associated with pollution control. I'm getting ready to de-smog a 22re probably this week, sometime before i put it back in. Maybe i will try and take some pics for ya!

EGR is not smog equipment on a 22RE, its there to make it run the way it does, removing it wont gain you any performance... in fact I have heard it runs better with it.

I don't believe the liberal news media. Smog from vehicles is a farce. Go tell the sun to cool itself down and quit throwing solar flares. Trees eat smog, and like it. Feed the trees. Its all going to burn anyway according to 2 Peter 3:10...and I'm not planning on being here when it does.

The EGR valve is a SMOG device. It recirculates exhaust emissions and lowers combustion temperatures for cleaner tailpipe emissions. 22RE's don't tend to run well without them and a lot of them ping like hell after it is removed. EGR is unrelated to crankcase ventalation, that is the PCV valve.
