Dee Zee or Westin Nerf bars; Which is better???

I have recently bought a 2002 4runner sport edition in red. I have also recently found out that they no longer make the factory color matched running boards nor the optional silver colored tube step.

So, I decided to look at aftermarket side tube step and I hjave found 2 options...
1 is made by Dee Zee
http://www.autopartsauthority.com/p...go.x=19&go.y=10

the other is made by Westin
http://www.autopartsauthority.com/p...&go.x=9&go.y=12

Are either of these superior to the other and is the $400+ price tag justified, Thanks very much for any input
Brian

Here is a suggestion that moght not be for you....

I had nerf bars for a while. I thought they would help for stepping in/out and for protection offroad. In truth, nerf bars are good for steps and looks. If that is all you care about then carry on.

But, If I could do it again, I would have jumped staright to rock sliders. They provide the rugged look that nerf bars do, provide a step, give better ground clearance, and actually do protect your rig.

Just a suggestion.

Since you posted this in the Offroad Tech forum, you should be aware that nerf bars will provide no help or protection off-road. If you want off-road performance then look at rock sliders. Otherwise you may get more help in 4Runners, Trucks, & SUVs forum.

I went for the looks and the use for stepping in the cab but I would also spend a little more and get some sliders, if i knew they existed back then!!!

sooo... get SLIDERS... www.Stubbswelding.com has some nice ones. Well within price range too!

JUST DO IT! =)

if you're not looking for offroad protection, you should wait on purchasing them. Also check out eBay... They have decent prices for some as well...

You just missed a hell of a deal for the factory silver tubes... Ebelen just sold his for like $75....
