Carbuerator Questions
I have an 87 22R. My carb has finally died, I mean it's awful. I'm looking into getting a Webber 32/36. I know they work really good but does anyone have any suggestions about other brands. I 'd appreciate some ideas or reasurance from people with these aftermarket carbs. Thanks.

for offroad typically the stock 22R carb is the best. if you're going to get an aftermarket carb, get a weber 38. the 32/36 is actually smaller than the 22R's stock carb(it's a bit different for me, since a 20R carb is waaay smaller than a 32/36). the 38 will give better performance on the road, but you might want to tweak it a bit to make it better offroad, like lowering the float level
also remember to run a fuel pressure regulator, webers typically like only about 2-3psi

Found this on Pirate last night.
What exactly is wrong with your carb?

One reason I laugh when guys rip there stock carbs off and put a weber on, kinda like putting warn hubs on a toy axle,lol....

Just like the Aisin hubs, the Aisin carb that came stock is about the best engineered all-around carb available for a Toyota. I see no benefit in going to anything else (other than EFI).

I am selling the carb from my 22R. Another member said he was interested, but I don't know if it's a sure thing. If you're interested, let's give the other guy a couple days and we can work a deal.
