Busted rear shock

So I got a busted rear shock absorber of the bilstein variety. Anybody know how stingy they are on replacement? I got them about 3 years ago, and snapped a shaft on one of the back ones. Their website says no reciept, no replacement, but I think that sucks. Their product failed. Any advice. Sorry if it's in the wrong forum.

If they won't replace, what should I get instead?

Lets see some pics? I've never heard of a Bilstein breaking like that.

it busted right below the upper mount on the left shock. I will take some pics tonight. The shaft is just kind of hangin up in the air, and the metal washers that squish the bushing are still up on the mount. Gonna be a pain in the rear to get off I am sure. It started clunkin up in Montana on a washboard road, and got progressively worse. I don't think I want to replace just one, I would want to replace both of them.

You almost certainly have shocks that are too long (without doing a bumpstop adjustment), thus "bottoming out" on compression, that is overcompressing.
That's a sure fire way to kill a shock, even a billy.
