Question 4th Gen lockers, news??

Anybody heard anything about lockers for the 4th Gen yet? I have not been able to find any, or any info yet.

I would like to start planning and saving for this coming winter.

zero info.... sorry I'm trying my best but unfortunately nothing promising at the moment. I'm waiting for arb to release some info but nothing yet. maybe in a few years.

I'm waiting for the 05 tacoma's to come out so I can see if they have a rear diff like they do on their current model. If the 05's do come w/ a rear locker I'm gonna see if the rear axles are the same so I can do a direct swap Waiting for one to show up at the dealer so I can see!!!

That's good thinking on the Tacoma. I think the axle will be different in the rear as it will probably have leafs vs coils. I'm no suspension guru at all, but axle's wont be the same at all (mounting points, etc) for leafs vs coils.

The diffs might be the same??? SO there can be an opportunity.

Maybe we should start a poll for arb, or get an email where we can request lockers. That might bump up their plan I'll post elsewhere as well, get some ground swell.

Anybody with a 4th Gen that wants lockers please post to this thread.

knowing toyota, the tacoma will probably have the 8.4 like it does now. when it comes to rear axles, they don't like to change much since there's not much need to!

what exactly is in the rear of the 4th gens now? its not the 8.4? i thought thats what Tundras have, or am i mistaken? i just always thought they would use the same diff as tundras and sequoias since they all have the 4.7

i'm not entirely sure, but i believe the 3rd gens kept the 8" housing while the taco split and began using the 8.4?

I have no idea what they are using in the 4th gen, but I do know that everybody states it is different from the Tundra or Taco even the LC.
