My plan is to put 35 inch BFG KM's on my 98 Tacoma with All Pro's 3 inch coilovers and rear lift. I plan on a 1 inch body lift and Bushwacker cut-outs. It will have 35x12.50's on a 17x9 wheel. Besides new gears and steering rack poly bushings, what else could be done to make this stronger or better?

Can this be done without rubbing or any other problems??

And maybe a lockright in the front with my manual hubs??

This is my first lift so I wanna get it right the first time.

i dont see you having any chance of wheeling it... and still idk... i would stick with 33 with that lift if you plan to drive it

 

Yes, you can put 35's on a Taco without building a monster truck.

This is my buddy's '04 with Sonoran Steel's 6.0 Lift Kit: which consists of Tundra front lift (2.5" front), a Deaver 3 leaf add-a-pack, Daystar Shackles (3" rear) and all the right accessories. He also added a 2" BL.

The tires are 315 Xtreme AT's on 4" BS 16x8 wheels.

He has had to trim the pinch weld, a little flare and fender, but not bad at all IMO. The only place he still rubs in on the frame at full lock.

P.S. I run 315's on my 4Runner with a 1" BL and the same front set up. I have trimmed more and still rub slightly on the inner fender under full compression, no biggie though.

when I was IFS I had 35's on cranked t-bars, and some coil spacers (I would say 1.5-2" of lift.) I had to work the fire wall with a hammer a little but no fender trimming. I could have wheeled it but I used a set of 33" tsl bias ply's which measure 33.7" tall (as tall as some 35's) and I didnt rub with those and it was flexy, in the rear any way.

33's with 17 inch wheels just looks funny.

 

If you really want to show him up, put in lockers, leave the rest stock and then outwheel his open/open POS every day of the week...

It is basically still stock except for some exhaust/F.F.cat./filter/lockright/31" BFG upgrades

I think I've lost my rake to the leaves...

Should stock Tacoma rear leafs arch down, up, or are they flat?

And will a lockright explode my front diff or birfs? I've got Toy manual hubs and I will be installing a 3/4" diff. drop when I regear and put the lift on.

 

I need to know these kind of things so I can keep it together.

I don't have time for a SAS or rebuilding something that blows apart.

 

IFS doesn't have birfs, so I don't think you'll be exploding any.

In most situations, and IMHO the ones you don't have as much control over - a front locker will HELP your CV's. If you get a tire wedged in somewhere though, a locker will hurt them.

Search around for more opinions about front lockers. No need to rehash the ARB debate...
