3" wheel spacers too much?
so ive got a 89 V6 4runner with an '85 axle up front with 1 1/2" spacers to equal out the width of the rear axle. i was thinking of putting the 1 1/2" spacers in the rear and put 3" spacers up front.
would 3" spacers be too much stress on the front hubs? is anyone running 3" spacers? what are your thoughts? thanks!

Personally If you already have a lot of backspacing in your rims I don't think that the extra 1.5 width is worth the extra stress on wheel bearings, trunnion bearings, and the knuckle its self. I have see people run them though.
I have 2.5 backspaced rims and a 1.5 spacer. If your rims are 3.75 backspace with a 3 inch spacer the stress should be comparable.

Now I dont run any spacers and I have done a little research on them and from what ive got and from what alot of other people have said. its not to safe to go past 2.5, Just to much stress on the bearings and the hubs. I would stick with what you got for now atleast.

I have 2" front spacers, 1.5" rear spacers on my rig (Toy axles front/rear) with 4.5 BS wheels. It seems fine, just be sure to lock tite and retorque spacers after the first trip or two, then check periodically.
