2.5 Ton Rockwells

I think they only have like 16 spline axles, so you would have to upgrade those, need a cherry picker to take the diff out, steering would have to be hydraulic! (I doubt a toyota box would turn those!!) Weight, they are heavy! You would need some power just to get up and move!
The "high pinion" design would not work on a toyota without a huge lift, and very large bump stops!! It would hit the oil pan!!
Also special wheels are needed, and unless you go custom, I think the size is 19.5in by 8 or solmething weird and big like that, and the bolt pattern is huge!!
They are good for mudders because the DS angle on them is good when coupled to a 20+inch lift!!

Mud is all we have down here in south florida. There are a couple toyotas running around on rockwells. The weight is a huge difference. But when someone says "You can't run any bigger the 38's-40's on a smaller then one ton axle" I beg to differ. I run yota axles with my 46 inch tall tractor tires and dont want the weight of bigger axles. I wish they made a toyota top loader though

What all do you have done to your axles? I run stock axles with 5.29's and lockers front/rear with 39.5's. All i do is play in the mud with it tho. 44's is the biggest i want to run but everybody says thats to much on them axles. I'm from lakeland, and i've seen some crazy things down there.

I don't know anything about mud trucks but look at the post above you, he says he has 46's on his so I know you say you've heard you can't but apparently you can. Well maybe they can't but he can so I would try and get a hold of that guy. Just my 2cents

My uncle ran 44s on his toyota for well over 10 years. Not one broken part and it was wheeled every single weekend. it was an 83' that he had bought new. My axles are under my samurai. Which has a bunch of lift and a built v6 motor that probally has way more power than the toyota v6 does. I haven't pounded mine many times yet. But last weekend In 2wd I pounded on it pretty hard with no breakage. Mud is alot different than rocks, less wear and tear IMO. You also have to put some logic into it also, I don't try to snatch people out or do tug of wars. They are made to pull the vehicles weight and not the added weight of pulling other things around. If you are running a 44 inch tire or smaller you shouold have no problem with a toyota axle. I also plan on upgrading to better axle shatfs later on when the stock parts seem to start to fail. When that will be?, Only time will tell.

I'm runnin a built SBC in mine, so i'm pumpin a pretty good bit of hp and tq for them axles. I have an adapter to toyo T.case from my chevy tranny but im about to go with 1-ton axles just cause, and when i do that i'm prolly gonna run All chevy, only thing gonna be yota on the truck is body and frame lol. I figure why not i got a 86 IFS yoyo that i can play around the hunt club with. with rockwells im gonna screw myself over with weight. Thats the whole reason i'm runnin toyo right now. Zuk's are great, but to me their top heavy and the higher ya go, the more it scares me.
