Since you seem to have the $$$, just get a new '07 Tundra. Get the fully optioned rig with leather, nav, 5.7L, etc etc.

OK, your post attracted the attention of a salesman; me...

'03 to '04 will have the older version of the 4.7L V8 and a 4spd auto. Also earlier versions did not offer the Double Cab.

'05 to '06 is the 271HP 4.7L V8 (same basic engine, but like 40 more HP). with a 5spd auto. I think they have very impressive power.

1st Gen Tundras are great trucks with an amazing ride. Also the D-cabs have great room inside(especially for the rear seat) as long as you are average size. The D-Cab also has a power rear window and most limiteds had a huge sun roof. It was the best kept secret in 1/2 ton trucks.

The '07 is proving to be an awesome truck and since Toyota is trying to woo buyers from the big three there are some awesome deals available. It is meant to meet the competitor trucks a little more head on than the old truck did. Your preference will somewhat dictate which one you like best. The good news is that at least here some late model Tundras are getting traded in on the '07. In the past these would not have been available.

If you want to tow, haul bigger loads, or are an extrovert and want to have the baddest thing around, the new one is a no brainer. If you want an SUV with a bed on the back then the '03 to '06 may be your gig.

Interesting thing is that even though the new truck dwarfs the old one it actually turns much sharper therefore making it more nimble is malls and such(not to mention towing or off-road).

Please feel free to correct me guys, as I am a slimey car salesman. I have to admit I take test drives and read books more than I spend time towing or off-roading.
