Tundra v6 yr 2000 nightmare problems HELP!!!
I own 2 tundras one with 220 k a 2006 runs like new!
PROBLEM TRUCK 2000 v6 with 178k tundra
Bought 3 months ago ran pretty good But then
I had done a lot to get it up to par brakes even changed all fluids Ect the the battery went dead somehow my employee put screws in loose terminals and this hit the HOOD CAUSING SHORT but some previous owner had put piece wire in where main fuse supposed to be OH NO
There starts issue well hardly runs very rough no power Ect!!
So we have changed plugs, new alternator new battery new terminals still RAN BAD SO they said timing belt ,,,so changed that and new water pump then they said CATALYTIC covert clogged replaced that and checked rest of exhaust WOW lotta cash NOW RUNS JUST AS BAD AS WHEN STARTED NO codes on scanner

I'd start with basics. Are all cylinders firing? Is timing set right? Compression test? Fuel delivery? Fuel filter (if it has one)? If you are paying someone else to do your work, suggest you take the truck somewhere else. There are numerous reasons an engine would run rough. Need to stop shooting in the dark. If timing was on the mark when checked, a new timing belt would not be needed? I suggest using nothing but Toyota parts also.
