Question Scan Tools For My Tundra

Today the ckeck eng light came on and I was wondering if anyone has purchased a cheap code reader with any luck in really diag-ing multiple problems, ie. oxy sensor/s OR is there a way to read the codes by the flashing light method on the Tundra as is with my 87 4Runner?
This is my fist post ever so I hope I did it correctly...

If you have a laptop handy, the BR-2 is a great OBD diagnostic tool

code reading

JF, if your Tundra is a V8 there is a campaign on the O2 sensors. Simply take your vehicle to your local dealer and they will be able to assist you with this. Hope this helps.

Todd,
I have a 2000 Tundra V8 with ~46k miles. I've already had to replace one O2 sensor within my 3/36 warranty period and another outside of the 3/36 period. Just this past week my check engine light lit up again. I'll bet its the first replacement O2 sensor heater (it was replaced before the "new" O2 sensor part was out).

Is this 02 sensor campaign you're referring to in addition to the basic 3/36 warranty?

Thanks in advance!

The "dukestr" hehe...I wanted to say that, is right on with that tool. I may buy one of those one of these days when I have money again. Man I think I am forgetting what this so called "money" looks like.
