?? Header/exhaust & Head mods '94 t100 3.0
Same old story my HG blew again looks like the #6 cyl. So I have been reading on this forum about potential fixes.
Has anybody gone to a header and ditched the x-over pipe, I am looking at Downey's headers and replacing the entire exhaust. Do you think this mod dissapates enough heat to prevent future HG problems. Also any experience with having the heads reworked and oversized valves installed?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks Sean

I have the ceramic downey headers on my 94 3.0 truck. The engine has alot more kick in the top end. I looked at the downey crossover, but it looked to pieced together, so i decided to have the exhaust custom made, which turned out great.
Good luck on the headgasket, mine has gone twice also. The second time it bent a rod, so i did a complete rebuild.

Dirtoy,
Thanks for the reply, I was leaning towards the ceramics also. I like everthing about the truck and for my purposes do not mind the lack of horsepower. The hg problems though I can do without, so hopefully the headers will take care of that problem.
