Drove the new LC yesterday

I was over at the Toyota dealer looking at trucks for my dad and my salesperson friend said for me to drive the new Land Cruiser. Wow, what a ride.

It is by far the nicest vehicle I've ever driven. Plenty of power and the interior is huge. Lots of cool electronic gadgets and sportshifting. $68,000 and 13mpg is way out of my league, but I enjoyed the test drive.

Having owned a 1976 FJ40, this new LC isn't raw and army like, rather it is the lap of luxury. I can't imagine what the new Lexus LX will be like.

Anyway, thought everyone would enjoy the post.

cheers!
Graham

Nice. Though I think they could've made the exterior more distinctive on the new gen, the beauty of the beast is all under the skin.

I agree. In fact we were talking about fender flares and a snorkel as a way to make it look tough and mean on the outside

Already done.
I think it is in the new 4WD Toyota Owner mag (review for sure) but I saw somewhere, it may have been some SEMA pics too.

The new LC had a Hi-Lift on the back bumper and some more stuff, made it look pretty good.

I put up some SEMA pics awhile back, they may be in that thread.

I don't know... that kind of looks like a mini-van with a 4x4 chassis...

I am really not a fan of Toyota's new SUV styling. It's ridiculous that the Rav4, Highlander, Sequoia, and Land Cruiser all look the same! I understand that Mercedes and BMW have used similar styling to create a instant recognition of it's vehicles, but jeez, why the hell does a Land Cruiser have to look like a Highlander?

Really great video corey! music sounds like Hans Zimmer...
I don't know... from some angles the LC looks great but from others it looks overweight and puggy... particularly from the corners... and that cream/bronze one is ugly...

On Speed Channel they tested it out on Test Drives with Tommy Kendall in the Out Back and in your neck of the woods Corey Washington with Ivan Stewart. I think its still running on Speed.

That video gives new meaning to the "Land Bruiser" moniker. Wow. I want one. Still, it ain't no 4Runner!
