I just mounted a rear facing light to my ladder rack. I wired it to the cargo lamp that is hidden by my topper. I am trying to figure out how to prevent the light from going on each time I open the door. I just want it to turn on when I hit the console button.

I have a 2000 Tundra.

In my '04 the light outsie always comes on when you open the door. You can immediatley turn it off via a switch in the dash. But the next time you open the door it comes back on. I wish I could be more help, but I don't have any good ideas.
