3.0 v6 info needed.

My 1990 4 runner had 218,000 miles on it when I blew a head gasket 400 miles from home - I ordered a new motor and installed it in my Uncles drive way. I pull a 20' Sea Ray boat, my camping trailer ( 12' Starcraft pop-up )
and within reason the 3.0 does everything asked of it.
I consistently get 15 - 16 mpg and always change the oil at 3000 miles.
Castroil 10w 40 / Purolator filter.
Unless a wreck happens - I am good to go for another 200,000. It ain't quick but it is a truck ! and a DAMN good one !
no worries here

My 94 T100 has a 3.0 and it had 190,000 miles on it and it still makes good compression and oil pressure. I do not know if the head gaskets were ever replaced since I have only had the truck a little over a year.
I agree with the other guys, its a good but underpowered engine. It only makes about 150 hp, less than a new Toyota Camry.
The only thing I don't like about it is the intake plenum setup, its too freakin big and makes working on the upper end of the engine a pain because it, the plenum, has to be removed.
The timing belt and water pump are pretty easy to replace, which is nice.
