2005 Tundra Towing Dilemma

Can anyone tell me where the Service connector is for the jumper harness so I can install a a Prodigy Brake controller? I have the 7-Pin connector under the back bumper with wires coming out of it. They have to go somewhere! Please help !!!!!!!

If you have the full towing package on your truck (7 pin connector on the hitch bar under the rear), there **should** have been a 5 wire pigtail harness in the glove compartment when you bought it. The connector on this pigtail plugs into a connector behind the kick panel on the driver's side under the dash.

Look under the fuse panel for a rectangular white connector, taped to another wire. Be prepared to skin your knuckles pulling the tape off so you can get to it. You will get better access if you depress the brake pedal first. You might also want to loosen the little grab nut holding the plastic panel on near the side/floor to allow some more room to get in there.

FWIW, I just installed a Prodigy in my truck and will be doing a full tech writeup on it this week - so if you can wait for a few days, I should have that up on here hopefully, which'll include all the details and pics.

2005 Land Cruiser Brake Controller Install

I also recently had a problem while trying to find the vehicle brake controller plug in under the dash. I have a 2005 Land Cruiser with the 7 pin connector under the rear hitch. I recently bought a Tekonsha P3 to pull a camper trailer. I also purchased the suggested OEM Tekonsha adapter (model 3040). I could not find the location of the plug in, but finally found it. It is actually under the dash on the drivers side on the RIGHT hand side (towards the center or the car) just over the horizontal black tube. Pull it down and plug it in. That's it. Hope this saves another person some time and effort!

Be aware that the plug you're looking for already has a cap on it, so it will appear to be connecting at first glance. IIRC, my 04 and 06, the wire was virtical with the connector on top... it's a pita.
