2004 Tundra questions . . .

I've asked some of these questions before however I didn't get a response, so here goes, 1) I want to get brighter bulbs for my headlights, not Silverstars, I would like to go with either 80w low and 100 high or even higher but as some posted, they could melt the housings/lenses/reflectors, could this be true? Has anyone gone with higher wattage? 2) which was to spin the adjusters for the stock foglights, it is posted in the factory manual I have but it doesn't say which way to turn for up or down, it could be because no one has bothered to adjust them or couldn't be bothered, but I'd like them to be higher and I can't really tell if they have moved up or down when I've spun them, and lastly, can anyone wait for the now Tundra for 06 or 07, it should be sick and I can't wait!

i have high watt lights in my tundra never had a problem they are a 90 low 120 high have not seen any type of deformation from heat.

I've got some 80/100's from Eiko coming, should be tommorow, and thanks for the info, it is good to know that the plastics won't melt from 30-40 extra watts, I didn't think it would, I just need brighter lights coming out of the stock headlight shell, the spread of the beam is fine just the brightness is so weak, I'll let you know how the 80/100's are.

If anything is going to melt, it'll be the wiring harness itself. I know of a few who had this prob. by switching to the higher wattage lights.

Even if I am just going to a 80/100? The analogy I'd like to make is when we go to a higher wattage bulb on our lampshades, we don't melt the wiring, why would it happen going to a 80/100 from a 55/60? I don't doubt that it may/will happen, I'd just like to know why it would.

Unfortuneatly I don't have any technical knowledge on this, I just read a couple of posts on the subject. If I rember correctly, the posts stated that the gauge of wire was too small and that the wires got hot and melted. But that was only a couple of people who experienced this problem. I'm sure there are a lot more who have increased the wattage w/o any problems. If you do go with the higher wattage, just keep an eye on the wiring.
