2003 Tundra 4.7

I’ve had this truck for two years. I have noticed that the AC get warms and the engine temp goes up when slow going or idling in traffic. Yesterday I used 4WD to climb up the mountain to our hunting cabin. I have done it several times the last two years. This time before I was nearly to the top the truck was overheating. I’ve had a few people tel me it is probably the fan clutch. When the engine is hot I can move the fan pretty freely. Does this sound like the fan clutch to everyone? I figure if I have to replace it I might as well do the thermostat and my belt which has some wear and appears dry.

Sounds exactly like a fan clutch. When the engine is hot, the fan should be difficult to turn by hand.

Thank you. It must have been the problem along with my belt which was just about toast.
